The real "secret" to making great pasta sauce is to start with great ingredients. Our premium Marinara Sauce uses the highest quality vine-ripened plum tomatoes from California's Central Valley that are freshly packed at their peak ripeness in season within hours of harvesting. These tomatoes are sweet and tart with a rich tomato taste preferred by some of the finest Italian restaurants .
Our sauce is cooked carefully in small batches at low temperatures to preserve fresh tomato flavour. We use the finest cold-pressed Greek extra-virgin olive oil that is harvested early for maximum flavour and nutrients. Locally grown roasted garlic, and caramelized shallots are added to enhance the depth and complexity of the sauce. For a traditional Mediterranean touch we add hand-picked sweet basil, pungent Turkish oregano, Sicilian sea salt and black pepper. The sauce is rustic and chunky with the texture of hand-crushed tomatoes, just like homemade.
Every batch is truly a labour of love.
Suggested Use: Perfect with pasta on its own or as a base for meat sauce, spaghetti and meatballs, shrimp marinara, spicy arrabiata, rose or primavera sauce. You can also use our marinara sauce as the substitute for tomato sauce in any classic Italian dish such as lasagna or chicken parmigiana. Serve it alongside garlic bread or focaccia as an appetizer. It even tastes delicious on top of eggs and toast!
